To tweet or not to tweet

Twitter is one of those tools that’s still unclear in many B2B marketers’ minds. As with any social media tool, I think you reap what you sow. There’s a good article on iMedia Connection today: How to be a Twitter all-star.

If you want to see what Twitter is all about, start with some basic research and monitoring. Just visit the search function and enter HP (or the name of your product or service). If nothing else, this exercise should make it abundantly clear that you need to be monitoring your company and product mentions on social media. When I ran that search on HP, the first result I saw was this:

!@#$% after all that I get hung up on during transfer to the right department. HP you suck.

Ouch. Not something I want a potential customer to see! What do you find when you search on your  company, product, or service?
